About

I’m a native New Yorker with ties to Eastern Europe & other parts of the world. I’ve lived between these worlds in both a physical and a philosophical sense, spending much of the past ten years trying to find my place somewhere in-between. Writing has been a part of that process, helping me discover the world and myself along the way. As a journalist and translator specializing in art, I’ve absorbed much of the magic of art-making by way of osmosis.

My goal in writing Queen of Corona was to give a voice to those who are without one. The invisible kids of America’s inner city and its failing public schools. The traumatized youths of a system that works against them from the day they start kindergarten.
